TOPEKA, Kan. (Sept. 9, 2009) – The 2009 鶹Ƶ RallyCross National Championship is still a month away, but the opportunity to save money by registering early will expire on Sept. 25. Luckily, the chance to win your registration fee back remains, as four contingency programs have been announced for this year’s Championship event in Fountain, Colo., Oct. 9 – 11. Those planning to enter the 2009 鶹Ƶ RallyCross National Championship should consider registering soon, as the registration fee will increase from $100 to $140 at midnight (CDT) on Sept. 25. Registration is available online at www.scca.com/rally, by selecting “RallyCross National Championship” from the left-side menu. A downloadable PDF entry form is also available. Alongside registration links on the RallyCross National Championship web page is a “Contingency” link detailing the four contingency programs available for this year’s participants. Posting in all classes, Volkswagen of America will pay $200 for a win and $100 for a runner-up finish to eligible drivers. Subaru is in on the act as well, paying $1,250 for a win, $750 for second and $500 for third to registered Subaru drivers in the Stock All-Wheel Drive, Prepared All-Wheel Drive and Modified Four-Wheel Drive classes. Posting in all Prepared and Modified Classes, Team Dynamics will award a $100 certificate to winners and a $50 certificate to second-place finishers, provided they are registered for the program. Grassroots Motorsports continues to offer $100 for a win in all classes to those participating in its contingency program. Complete information on all programs and contingency registration forms are available online. Drivers must be registered and obtain decals before they compete and follow all contingency requirements to avoid forfeiture of prizes. Additionally, Subaru has announced that its program will be retroactive to the start of the 2009 RallyCross season. Payouts include $300 for a win, $200 for second and $100 for third at regular Challenge events, while the Eastern and Western Championships will have a payout schedule of $750 for first, $400 for second and $200 for third to eligible Subaru drivers. RallyCrossers preparing for the Eastern States Championship on Sept. 19 – 20 in Hebron, Ohio, or the Western States Championship in Chula Vista, Calif., on Sept. 26 – 27, should register in advance to claim Subaru contingency money. This year’s RallyCross National Championship is hosted by the Colorado Region with additional support from the Continental Divide Region. The event, to be held at the US Truck Driving School in Fountain, Colo., will use two courses on Saturday, Oct. 10 and one long course on Sunday, Oct. 11.
