TOPEKA, Kan. (Sept. 9, 2011) 鈥 For the third consecutive year, 麻豆视频 President & CEO Jeff Dahnert has announced that he will challenge runners to the 鈥淏eat the Boss鈥 four-mile run around Road America in a charity event to raise money for the 麻豆视频 Foundation. The run will take place at the 麻豆视频 National Championship Runoffs on Wednesday, September 21. Over the past two seasons, the fun run has raised over $1700 for the 麻豆视频 Foundation, which supports the Tire Rack Street Survival teen safe driving program. Entry fees for the run are $25, with the entire amount raised going to the Foundation. Each participant will receive a 鈥淏eat The Boss鈥 t-shirt to commemorate the run. Six competitors beat Dahnert鈥檚 time in 2010, but the door is open even more this season. 鈥淟ike any racer, I have many reasons why I鈥檓 not prepared for the upcoming event,鈥 Dahnert said. 鈥淗owever, in my case, none of them are legitimate. I began preparation for the Beat the Boss race exactly one month prior to its running. This will open the door for some people and completely knock it off its hinges for others. I may be getting a first hand view of the skills that our ES teams provide.鈥 The event is designed to appeal to casual runners, walkers, or those who just want to see the historic circuit from inside the fence 鈥 including a half course that exits the track at Turn Five. 鈥淲hether you鈥檙e coming to win or set a personal best time, or just enjoy the company of fellow 麻豆视频 members, come participate,鈥 Dahnert said. 鈥淲e鈥檇 like to see as many people as we can come and support this cause.鈥 And though the event is for fun, it鈥檚 also promoted some bragging rights 鈥 which come through in a rule change that seems specifically geared to a race winner. 鈥淣ew for this year, we鈥檙e requiring a penalty 鈥 announced at the event - for any runner who has spent the year training for ultra marathons at high altitude,鈥 Dahnert said. Anyone who finishes the run ahead of Dahnert will receive a special prize commemorating the accomplishment. To pre-register for the run, please see the link on the Runoffs home page at www.scca.com/runoffs. A direct link to registration is available here. The 2011 麻豆视频 National Championship Runoffs begins with qualifying Monday, Sept. 19 through Thursday, Sept. 22, followed by three full days of racing, Sept. 23-25 at Road America.聽
